Parrot Package

(3 days and 2 nights)

Day 01 – An air-conditioned bus will pick you up in the morning at your hotel or in the afternoon at the airport. The trip starts with a visit to the historical Amazon Theatre in the centre of Manaus and then on to the harbour where you’ll board a typical Amazonian riverboat and head off along the river. The first stop will be the spectacular “Meeting of the Waters”, followed by a visit to the “Janauari” ecological park, where you will take a  motorised canoe trip to observe the local fauna and flora, including the giant water lilies. Lunch will be at a floating restaurant. In the afternoon we’ll head up the Negro River towards the “Anavilhanas” archipelago, where you’ll see hundreds of small river islands. Night will be spent on board the boat.

 

   

Day 02 The second day starts with an early call to see the sunrise. Then it’s off for a trek through the jungle to listen to the birds and look out for wildlife. In the afternoon you’ll go by canoe to see the fresh water dolphins and to explore the igarapés (narrow creeks winding into jungle) and fish for piranha and other fish. After dinner, we take to the river once again, this time in the moonlight, to spot alligators and observe the nightlife.  

Day 03 Today’s program includes a visit to a native village to see the daily life of the local inhabitants (caboclos) and their handicrafts. Next we will visit a rubber tree plantation and see how the latex is extracted. After a barbecue lunch on the beach we will head back to Manaus where we will dock at around 17:30.  

 

Macaw Package


(4 days and 3 nights)

Our guide will show you how the extract water from the vines, set traps for catching food, make a fire and fish. The day will end with a night walk through the jungle. Those wanting a special adventure can spend the night in the middle of the Amazonian jungle sleeping in a hammock, amid the night sounds and the activities of jungle nightlife (an unforgettable experience!).

Day 04 - We will head up river towards the place of the Black Earth, where you can visit the indigenous community of the Baniwas and Tukanos and observe how they live and see them working on their handcrafts.

(6 days and 5 nights)

Lunch will be at a floating restaurant. In the afternoon we’ll head up the Negro River towards the “Anavilhanas” archipelago, where you’ll see hundreds of small river islands. Night will be spent on board the boat.   

 

    

 Day 02 – The second day of the excursion will be spent sailing among the islands of the "Anavilhanas" archipelago where you can enjoy its unexplored flora and fauna. Later on we’ll proceed to Jaú, the biggest National Park in Brazil. Special permission is required from IBAMA, the Environmental Protection Agency of Brazil, to enter to this vast Amazonian wilderness. Our agency will make all the prior necessary arrangements but, even so, all visitors and crew have to present their identity documents at the IBAMA office before entering.

Day 04 – Continued exploration of the Jaú Park by canoe to observe the countless species of birds and animals to be found in the Amazonian forest.     

Day 05 We leave the park and proceed to the municipal district of Novo Airão to visit a small village ensconced in the middle of the forest. Here we can observe the local native customs and see how the inhabitants make their boats. This region is famous for its boat building. We will continue navigating back through the “Anavilhanas” islands, enjoying the exotic flora and fauna. Overnight on board.

Day 06 Visit to a giant "samauma" tree, then to a rubber plantation where you’ll be shown how the latex is extracted. Lunch on board the boat followed by a visit to the “Ariau Tower” Tree Top Lodge (customers pay for the visit) and then back to Manaus where will dock at around 17:30.
